Linux-Kernel independent PROFIBUS-DP-Master for PREEMPT_RT and Standard-Linux
February, 2011 STEINHOFF released a PROFIBUS-DP Master implementation for the realtime-capable PREEMPT_RT Linux and Standard-Linux together with a LINUX-based tool for configuring PROFIBUS-DP networks. PROFIBUS-DP board/software packages are offered together with PCI, PCIe, PC/104-Plus or PC/104 Boards from Softing.
The PROFIBUS-DP Master software is based on the UIO-interface, and is independent from the LINUX kernel version. Only the sources of the related kernel module of the UIO interface have to be recompiled for the individual 2.6.x kernel versions and the latest UIO support. The offered implementations avoid context switches in the operational mode of the master in order to minimize the requested CPU time. - Additionally is offered the C-API also as functionblock-library for integrating into DACHSview.

for standalone embedded graphical applications running under QNX6 and Photon/SDL.
DACHSview-SDL is an innovative programming & GUI tool which is based on a graphical function block language and covers all aspects of today’s industrial automation. DACHSview-SDL applications are data flow- and function block oriented and are developed within an uniform programming environment supporting I/O ports, physical memory, fieldbus I/O points, TTF-fonts, SQL data bases, and the development of complex animated graphics. One tool for all system interfaces !
DACHSview-SDL includes calls of the libraries SDL and SDL-Gfx as pre-defined function blocks (FBs), and a TTF library. Further are included higher level FBs for bar graphs, meters, trend graphs, GUI buttons, control- and input-elements, etc. for easy handling of complex visualization tasks. Additional options are offerings of FB-libraries for SQLite (SQL data base), and fieldbus-support e.g. The FB-libraries are integrated into the MS-Windows based programming-Workbench DACHSview. The developed real-time programs will be uploaded to specific remote QNX Neutrino RTOS v. 6.3 Targets. After uploading all applications are running w/o the workbench.
User-defined function blocks can be built. Existing C-applications can be integrated by message-passing. DACHSview-SDL is supporting visualization functions combined with Soft-PLC tasks.
